Forgotten Wi-Fi password is one of the most common problems faced by router users. MTSIt's especially frustrating when you urgently need internet access and the sticker with the factory data has long been lost or worn off. Fortunately, there are several ways to recover the password—from simply checking the settings to a full reset of the router to factory defaults.
In this article we will look at all current password recovery methods for routers MTS, including models D-Link Dir-300, ZTE ZXHN H298A, Huawei HG8245H and more. You'll learn what to do if you can't access the web interface, have lost your admin panel login, or your router is displaying an error. You'll also learn how to avoid similar situations in the future by setting up configuration backups.
Before you begin, check if the password is saved on one of your devices (smartphone, laptop or tablet). Windows You can see it in the "Network Settings" Android — in the Wi-Fi settings (if the device has previously connected to this network). If not, read on.
1. Password recovery via the router's web interface
The most reliable way is to access your router's control panel and view (or change) your Wi-Fi password. To do this, you'll need:
- 🔌 Router connected to power and turned on.
- 💻 A computer, laptop, or smartphone connected to the router via cable (Wi-Fi may be disabled if you forget the password).
- 🔑 Login and password to enter the admin panel (usually
admin/adminor indicated on the router sticker).
If you don't know the login details for your control panel, try the standard combinations:
| Router model | Login | Password |
|---|---|---|
| D-Link Dir-300, Dir-615 | admin |
admin or an empty field |
| ZTE ZXHN H298A, H108N | admin |
mts or admin |
| Huawei HG8245H, EchoLife | root or admin |
admin or telecomadmin |

192.168.1.1or192.168.0.1(less often)192.168.8.1for some models Huawei). - Enter your login and password (see table above).
- Go to the section
Wi-Fi,Wireless networkorWireless(the name depends on the model). - Find the field

Check the cable connection to the LAN port (not WAN!)
Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
Disable VPN or proxy in system settings
Reboot your router (turn off the power for 30 seconds)

2. Using the WPS button to connect without a password
If you urgently need access to Wi-Fi, but there is no time to recover the password, you can use the technology WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). It allows you to connect your device to the network without entering a password—just press a button on the router.
How does this work:
- Make sure the indicator light on the router is on.
WPS(usually flashes or glows green). - On your device (smartphone, laptop), select your router's Wi-Fi network MTS.
