Cameras HiSEEU IP cameras have long proven themselves to be reliable video surveillance devices with easy setup, but connecting to Wi-Fi often raises questions among users. Even if you've never set up IP cameras before, our instructions will get you up and running in 10-15 minutes—avoiding unnecessary steps and common mistakes. In this article, we'll cover all stages of connectionFrom preparing your router to setting up remote access via an app HiSEEU Cloud.
We will pay special attention to common problems, which can cause the camera to not see the network or to constantly disconnect: weak Wi-Fi signal, incorrect DHCP settings, IP address conflicts. We'll also tell you how bypass the 5 GHz network connection limitation (if your model supports it) and why a factory reset sometimes helps. All steps are illustrated with screenshots from the latest version of the app and are relevant for the following models: HiSEEU C20, C30, PTZ and others with Wi-Fi support.
1. Preparation before connection: what to check in the router
Before you get to the camera, make sure your router is configured correctly. 90% of connection problems These errors are caused by incorrect network settings, not the camera itself. Here's what to do:
- 📶 Wi-Fi frequency: most cameras HiSEEU work only on frequency
2.4 GHz. If your router broadcasts two networks (2.4 and 5 GHz) with the same name (SSID), temporarily disable 5 GHz or separate networks in the settings. - 🔒 Encryption type: The camera only supports
WPA2-PSK (AES)If you haveWPA3or mixed mode (WPA/WPA2), change it in the router control panel. - 📡 Signal strength: The camera should be no further than 10 meters from the router (without obstructions). If the signal is weak, use repeater or move the router closer.
- 🔄 DHCP: Make sure that the Automatic IP Address Assignment feature (
DHCP) is enabled. Otherwise, you'll have to manually enter the IP address in the camera settings.
If you don't know how to change these settings, check your router's manual or find your model in our settings databaseFor example, for routers TP-Link the path will be like this: 192.168.0.1 → Wireless → Wireless Settings.
⚠️ Attention: Some providers block access to router settings via the standard IP (192.168.0.1or192.168.1.1). In this case, the address may be different - look for it on the sticker on the back of the device.
2. Installation and first launch of the camera HiSEEU
Once the router is ready, you can begin physically installing the camera. Follow these steps:
- Unpack the camera and check the kit: the camera itself, power supply, fasteners, Ethernet cable (if included).
- Connect the power Connect the device to the camera via the adapter. Wait for the beep and the indicator light to flash—this means the device has turned on.
- Install the camera in the right place. For street models (for example, HiSEEU C30) Use the fasteners provided and make sure the power cable is not exposed to moisture.
If the camera supports PoE (Power over Ethernet), you can connect it to a router or PoE injector via a network cable. In this case, Wi-Fi setup is not required—the device will automatically obtain an IP address via the wire.

3. Connect to Wi-Fi via the app HiSEEU Cloud
The easiest way to set up your camera is to use the official app. HiSEEU Cloud (available for Android And iOS). Download it from App Store or Google Play and follow the instructions:
- Register an account (or log in if you already have one). Use a valid email address—a confirmation email will be sent to it.
- Add a new camera: click
“+” → “Add device” → “Wi-Fi camera”. - Scan the QR code from the sticker on the camera or enter
UID(serial number) manually. - Select a Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Make sure you are connecting to
2.4 GHz! - Wait for the connectionThe camera will emit a long beep, and the camera image will appear in the app.
If an error occurs during the connection stage «Failed to connect», check:
- 🔌 Is the Wi-Fi password entered correctly (case sensitive!).
- 📵 Is the phone in sleep mode?
On the planeorVPN. - 🔄 Restart the camera (disconnect power for 10 seconds).
What should I do if the camera does not emit sound signals?
If the camera does not beep when turned on and the indicators do not light, check:
1. power unit - try another adapter with the same voltage (usually 12V/1A).
2. Cable - inspect for damage, especially if the camera is outdoor.
3. Reset button — Press and hold it for 10 seconds (the hole is next to the power connector). If the camera works after this, you'll have to start the setup again.
4. Setting up remote access and cloud storage
Once connected to Wi-Fi, the camera will only be accessible within the local network. To view video from anywhere in the world, you need to configure remote access:
- In the appendix HiSEEU Cloud go to
“Devices” → select the camera → “Settings” → “Network settings”. - Enable the option
«P2P»(orRemote Access). - Come up with something password for the camera (different from the Wi-Fi password!) and save the changes.
Now you can connect to the camera via the internet. To do this:
- 🌍 Enter in your browser
UID camera.hiseeu.net(For example,ABC123456.hiseeu.net). - 📱 Or use the app HiSEEU Cloud on another device.
If you want to save your recordings to the cloud, go to Cloud Storage and select a plan. The free plan includes 3 days of storage with a limit on the number of events.
⚠️ Attention: For stable operation of remote access, the router must be open. TCP/UDP port 34567If you have a corporate network or your ISP is blocking ports, please contact technical support.
| Cloud storage tariff | Shelf life | Number of cameras | Price (per month) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 3 days | 1 | For free |
| Standard | 7 days | Up to 3 | ~200 ₽ |
| Premium | 30 days | Up to 5 | ~500 ₽ |
| Professional | 90 days | Unlimited | ~1200 ₽ |
5. Solving common connection problems
Even with the correct settings, the camera may behave unstable. Here the most common problems and ways to eliminate them:
🔴 The camera can't find a Wi-Fi network
Check:
- 📡 Distance to the router (maximum 10-15 meters without walls).
- 🔒 Encryption type (only
WPA2-PSK). - 📵 Interference from other devices (microwaves, wireless headphones).
🟡 The camera connects, but the image lags.
Reasons and solutions:
- 📶 Weak Wi-Fi signal → use a repeater or wired connection (PoE).
- 🖥️ Slow internet speed → check your speed on
speedtest.net(must be at least 2 Mbps per camera). - 🔄 Router overload → Limit the number of connected devices or reboot the router.
🟢 The camera keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi
Possible reasons:
- ⚡ Unstable power supply → try a different power supply.
- 🔄 IP address conflict → assign a static IP address to the camera in your router settings.
- 📵 Automatically disable energy saving on your router → disable this option in the control panel.
6. Alternative connection methods (without Wi-Fi)
If a Wi-Fi connection is not possible (for example, due to long distance or interference), there are two alternative options:
🔌 Connection via Ethernet cable (PoE)
Many models HiSEEU (For example, PTZ or C30 Pro) support PoE (power supply via the network). To do this:
- Connect the camera to a router or PoE switch via
Ethernet cable(twisted pair). - In the appendix HiSEEU Cloud select
Wired connectioninstead of Wi-Fi. - Set the IP address manually or leave it as is
DHCP(automatic receipt).
📡 Connect via 4G/5G modem
For remote objects (dacha, garage) you can use mobile Internet:
- Buy a 4G router (for example, Huawei B525) or USB modem.
- Insert a SIM card with an unlimited data plan (check your carrier's coverage in your area!).
- Connect the camera to the Wi-Fi of this router (similar to the main instructions).
⚠️ Attention: When using mobile internet, please take into account traffic restrictions. One camera in mode 1080p consumes ~60 GB per month with 24/7 recording.
7. Camera Optimization: Expert Tips
To ensure your camera works reliably and doesn't let you down at crucial moments, follow these recommendations:
- 🔄 Update your firmware via the app HiSEEU Cloud (chapter
Settings → Software Update). New versions fix connection errors and improve stability. - 📹 Set up a recording schedule, so as not to clog up the memory with unnecessary files. For example, recording only on motion (
Motion Detector → Schedule). - 🔒 Change the default password to a complex one (at least 8 characters with numbers and letters). This will protect against hacking.
- 📡 Use a separate network for cameras (guest Wi-Fi) to restrict access from other devices.
If you have multiple cameras, assign them to different Wi-Fi channels (in your router settings) to avoid interference. For example:
- Camera 1 → Channel 1
- Camera 2 → Channel 6
- Camera 3 → Channel 11
